WE WORK!

“So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.” Nehemiah 4:6 NKJV

Dear Streams Church Family,

We knew when God opened this great door of opportunity located at 3425 Boulevard Place, it was beyond our present budgeted capacity. However, we’ve learned in our journey that we don’t need faith to believe for things within the realm of what we can do, but rather faith is needed for those things that stretch us to believe what God can do! We’re living in the “YES” promises of God and we seal it with an AMEN! [2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV]

As we continue to work together in this faith journey, it’s important that we remain on one accord, believing the same thing with equal sacrifice. There’s absolutely nothing a people can do who “have a mind to work!”

Here are some things to prayerfully practice, along with a few physical work tasks that will provide the additional income streams (beyond tithes and offering) to meet our budgetary obligations:

  1. Remain faithful in your giving (tithes and offering). This is the Lord’s primary plan for the upkeep and maintenance of the obligations of the local church. The Lord spoke to me years ago stating, “What you need is in the house!” I still believe that! Determine to work faithfully together in giving what the Lord requires so we can experience His faithfulness in giving back to us (more seed for the Sower and bread to eat!)

  2. Help us meet and exceed our Acceleration Seed Campaign goal of $100,000 in 2024! Our current pledge total: $79,000. Actual amount raised to date: $58,000. Look for an update of your pledge commitments via email this week.

  3. Volunteer tasks is another way to save money. We are grateful for many of you who have given of your time and talents to meet the needs around the church without having to hire and pay for labor. Here are a few things that require immediate volunteer labor. These tasks will help us to put in place two additional income streams for the church once they’re up and running: Cuddles Kiddies Childcare and Upon This Rock Productions.

    Tasks Requiring Volunteers Hands:

    1. Cuddle Kiddies Childcare (Projected grand opening end of September):

      1. Walls have been painted! (special thanks to Bro. Michael Coleman who paid for his staff to paint). Beautiful job!

      2. Replace ceiling light bulbs

      3. Replace soiled ceiling tiles

      4. Mount LED screens in three classrooms

      5. Change bulbs in existing Exit signs and install one additional exit sign (Homeland Security requirement)

      6. Install accordian doors (entrance of balcony). Required by Homeland Security to protect children from balcony. (doors onsite awaiting installation).

      7. Clean stairwell rubber matting and install safety screens along railing.

      8. Shampoo carpet in three classrooms, one office and hallway.

      9. Install exterior posts for large “Enrolling Now” signage.

    2. Upon This Rock (Lower Level) Theater

(In preparation for the first production: JOB: A Man Of Our Times. Another income stream for the church)

      1. Clean out two dressing rooms and restroom behind the stage.

      2. Removal of wooden structure currently on stage.

      3. Clean rubber matting on front steps leading to lower level

      4. In need of a commercial refrigerator/freezer for kitchen

      5. Assist Tim G. with load-in and installation of equipment for the production (staging, lighting, sound, pipe & drape, tables, etc) for the October production (September/October timeframe).

      6. Pray with us for a chair lift or similar installation for the elderly and handicapped access to the lower level.

    3. Other Area Tasks and In-Kind Services (Jehovah Jireh is Providing What We Need!)

      1. Michael Coleman installing security cameras externally and within the Childcare area.

      2. Michael Coleman and Tim G installing wiring to extend our WIFI signal throughout the church building.

      3. One of our newest members donating 4 LED screens and other supplies for the childcare and offering her services as a previous daycare owner to help Pastor Carol setup centers within the Childcare.

      4. Two local churches donating childcare furniture (no need to purchase any!)

      5. Grateful for Lionel & Lakisha Muse who volunteer their time weekly to clean the church!

Here are a few photos of some of the recent work done!

  1. Childcare area and our new Media Room! Special shout out again to Tim G. who setup our new media room housing controls for our new Livestream studio which had its first test last Sunday! This new setup will save the church close to $1000/month!
