Our Vision

Engage the world. Enrich the believer. Expand the work.

Our Mission

We exist as healing streams: helping people flow into their God-given purpose in life today while making preparation for eternal life tomorrow.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

Jesus is the center:
God’s glory is our priority.

We over me:
We serve better as One.

Givers by nature:
God’s generosity flows through us.

Everyone growing:
We remain teachable.

We show honor:
We value people.

Excellence over excess:
Faithfulness multiplies.

Spirit Lead:
God makes better plans.

Work the Word:
We live a faith you can see.

Love People:
It’s about taking action

Our History

“Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs.”

Isaiah 35:6-7

Healing Streams Word & Worship Center, aka The Streams Church was built on the foundation of prayer. Prayer intercessors were called together prior to launching the ministry, to meet and pray with Pastor and First Lady Hill on Saturday mornings for clarity on the direction for the church. Intensive weekly prayers birthed the ministry name, the scriptural foundation of Isaiah 35:1-7, and the prophetic images of how this ministry would serve the Kingdom of God. Prayer continues to remain the foundation upon which we build.

Healing Streams Word & Worship Center held its first service Easter Sunday, April 2003, at Pike Performing Arts Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. For the first 14 months of the ministry, weekly services were held at the historic Madame Walker Theatre in the heart of downtown Indy.

DRIVE-BY PRAYER VIGIL

The vision of Drive-by Prayer Vigil was implemented August, 2006.  Homicides in the city of Indianapolis reached an all time high causing the headlines of the Indy Sunday paper to read: “WE ARE AT WAR!”.  The mayor’s plea to the city in that article stated, “we’ve got to do something different”.  Holy Spirit direction given to Pastor Hill who communicated the same to members that morning was “go and do something different!”  The difference was the creation of the Drive-by Prayer Vigil (DBPV) outreach with a tag line:  ”If drive-by guns can kill, then drive-by prayers can heal”.  Thousands have been ministered to in the streets of Indianapolis where lives have been senselessly destroyed (click here for more on DBPV).
