Update 3.10.22
The Wednesday 7pm group is now full. All new members will be redirected to other days/times.
Reminder: Need two 59 second selfies to show each Sunday from members of the Life Groups. Can be taken from their phone and emailed to pastorhill@thestreams.org.
Update 3.2.22
Each group has been added with a list of current members and empty slots, denoting the number of additional members that can be added before it is considered full. In addition, the Zoom link is posted at the bottom of each groups chart.
Update (3.1.22)
The link to the Healing Streams' Zoom account is in the email you received from Pastor Hill (Zoom) titled "A. Thomas Hill invites you to join a Zoom meeting as alternative host". This is the email that contains your Small Group dates. Mid way is the "Start Meeting" box. Click this. It will ask you to login or switch accounts. Login using the email you provided Pastor to make you an alternative host.
I suggest you pin this email to the top of your email box and or make the link a favorite so you are not looking for this email /link weekly.
You may have to logout of your personal Zoom account first to make sure Zoom does not connect using your personal account. Your unique link will always end with the Zoom Mtg ID noted under your name on the above chart.
Update (2.26.22)
Next Monday, February 28, begins our first week of Life Groups. A total of 27 have signed up for a particular day/time (doesn’t include life group leaders). However, I have identified at least 35 more members who have not signed up and more than likely plan to do so. This number doesn’t include others outside the Streams (i.e. Prayerline or Wake Up Word) who are also signing up. I will be making personal calls to these individuals this coming week.
Everyone who signed up will be emailed info this weekend with how to connect via Zoom, along with the zoom link and any other info needed to get connected.
I am in need of two (2) people who are proficient with Zoom to standby to assist members who have problems connecting. Members will be given a tech assistance number to call. This number will be the church telephone number with two extensions. These extensions will be connected to the tech assistants volunteers’ cell phone, and will ring in as a Streams call (not giving out personal phone numbers). If you know of a couple of people who fit this description, let me know as soon as possible. The purpose is to minimize the hosts time in trying to get people connected.
The ministry standard size for small groups range from 3 to 8 people per group. We are capping our groups at 9 + the group leader. Once a group has met their max, we will suggest another day and time for them to join. In the event there are drop-outs along the way, we can fill those slots as the group leader deems necessary. Sometimes the temperature of a group may not be conducive to allow for new members right away. We will follow your lead.
I plan to open up Thursday evenings for another group. This was originally our Midweek virtual study, however, since I’m sharing 5/days/week with Wake Up With The Word, the Midweek ministry is being satisfied.
I’ve added another resource for the hosts: “A Great Small Group Leader Does These 6 Things”. Great substance to get you comfortable in the saddle as you prepare to facilitate. Please make sure you read before you begin meeting with you group next week.
The weekly format for Life Group Hosts during their 59 minutes:
First 15 minutes: Ice-breaker and personal journey updates. (No one should be forced to talk, but the goal of the host is to get them to eventually feel comfortable in sharing).
Next 30 minutes: Wake Up Word discussions (Encourage team to view at least one day of Wake Up Word prior to the next meeting.) ○
Last 14 minutes: Prayer Needs (Host should attempt to use as many members as possible to pray for specific needs as shared by members). Final prayer should end at exactly 59 minutes.
Note: If there are a few who have questions or concerns that would take you past 59 minutes, suggest you share with the group that you will officially dismiss at 7:59 (or whatever time slot is assigned for you group).
Using Wake Up With The Word as Discussion Platform
Every group leader must either consistently connect with Wake Up With the Word (WUW) at 7:15am (Monday-Friday), or listen to a recorded version later in the day, in order to become knowledgeable of the topic and what is being shared throughout the week. Make this a part of your daily meditation and study. Members will know if you are connected based upon your interaction.
Encourage members who have not connected with WUW through the week, to begin doing so (mornings or sometime in the day).
Group leaders should not only familiarize yourself with the Word for the week, but also scripture passages Pastor Hill references for each day. Refreshing the passages will prompt recall from members who should be encouraged to share how the word ministered to them.
For groups that meet the first part of the week, you might consider using the previous week’s Word for discussion. Your call.
How to review recorded WUW sessions. Log on to our website: www.thestreams.org. Scroll down on the home page to the large button: WATCH ALL OUR LIVE EVENTS ON YOUTUBE. Click the button and it will take you to youtube and a list of the archived WUW recordings.
Update (2.24.22)
We have updated the Host web page with an updated chart of everyone who has signed up thus far, their requested day/time, and the Zoom Meeting ID assigned to your group. This ID will be used by your group members to sign in each week. Be sure to have them keep it close by. We will continue to update as new sign ups come in.
If you don't see someone's name on the list, reach out to them and encourage them to get signed up!
Lastly, you will receive an email from Zoom advising that you have been added to our Zoom account as a licensed user. This will give you access to operate Zoom, using all the controls and features.
Let me know if you have questions.
